Ee is for Elephant, Part 1

They added the Ee page to their sign language 'books'.  Ava is so proud to be making a book and immediately 'read' it to her favorite stuffed animal, a tiny dog named Little Genie.
Poke page.
Letter Hunt!
Trying to sneak a handful of M&Ms and got caught!!
Another letter hunt.
Ava wrote her first 'E'!!  I circled them in red for the picture.  Aren't they cute?!
We made elephants by coloring the pieces, then cutting them out and gluing them onto a toilet paper tube.
Gracie turned 'C's into 'e's.
She turned all these into 'G's, except for the very last one, which is an 'e'.
Another brilliant idea from the blogosphere:
Write numbers in an egg carton and put 1 item in the first one, 2 in the second one, and so on.
Making play-doh into the letter shape that's printed on the paper.  I really like this idea!  I laminated them so we can re-use.
About to embark on a Scavenger Hunt!  I had actually been wanting to do this with each letter but hadn't gotten around to it yet.  One day after we read 'Letter Ee Sound Box' Gracie suggested that WE make a sound box, too!
We didn't find very many things that start with the short e sound.  Elmo, egg, envelope, elephant, elbow macaroni, and some wooden E's from our alphabet puzzle.
Yep, that's a basket on Gracie's head.  =)
I made Ee roads out of construction paper.
Painting some little elephant puzzles.
We painted some of the worksheets this week for something different.
Shape matching.
=)
