A Day With Aunt Jody

Jody kept the girls from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM last Saturday while Joel and I helped Barb's family move.  What a day they had!  They got to go shopping and pick out new bathing suits, then go swimming in them!
They played for an hour at McDonalds!
They got ice cream cones at Braums!
Yummm!!
Got to play with Genie, watch movies and eat popcorn, and no telling what all else they did!
Everybody should have an Aunt Jody in their life!

Sad News

This beautiful family, dear friends of ours, moved 3 hours north last weekend.  Joel and I were able to drive up and help them unpack Saturday and see their new house.  I don't even know what to say, except that I miss them greatly!  It was so nice to live near each other, go to the library Story Hour together, and trade babysitting.  It's not everyday I come across a wonderful friend like Barb and I still can't quite believe they actually moved away.
But, we definitely plan to keep in touch!  We're going to meet at a Children's Museum this Tuesday that is 1.5 hours from each of us and have a fun day!  We have a few more get-togethers planned in the near future so that's helping me not to wallow in my sorrow...too much.

More Artwork

Because I love it so much!
A stick-person!  With a normal-sized head!
 I love the hair bows.
Siamese twins, joined at the chin.  Ava said, "They are friends with each other."
Ava drew the dress picture at the top (and was SUPER proud of it) and Gracie drew the faces.
Joel taught them how to write Dad. =)
This is me (obviously) as drawn by Ava.

Week Ff, Part 2

Frog craft, with moveable arms and legs!  I helped them write the F on top of the paper, and they each wrote the one underneath.
The frog is holding a fly in one hand and Ava told me that her frog was thirsty, so I cut a bottle out of white paper and glued it to his other hand.
Am I crafty, or what???  HAHA!!
Putting magnets (which stick to the cookie sheets) on the circles of this frog paper.
Gluing feathers to the Ff's on the paper.
Genie helped Ava with hers.
=)
Ava wanted to make a silly face after she saw Gracie's.
We traced their feet.
And fingerpainted (tried to draw letters) with chocolate pudding!
"Wahhh!  I got some on my face!"
Ava loved this and has asked to do it again several times since.
Proud of her messy face!
We went fishing.
Gracie caught 2 at once!
I taped F, f ,G, and g's on them and they sorted them into piles.
Gracie drew some E's and an F!

Ff is for Fish, Part 1

We tried some computer games on Starfall for the first time.  Operating the mouse was actually really difficult for them and took a lot of concentration.  Next time we do it I think I'll try to change the settings so the mouse moves slower.
I cut a fish shape out of construction paper and put a contact paper underneath so it was sticky, then we stuck tissue paper on it.
Gracie wrote her name for the first time!!!  The G is backwards, the A is upside down, and the C fell on it's face...but I LOOOOOOOVE it!
Coloring the Ff sign language paper.
Using Do-A-Dot marker to highlight the Ff's on the foot.
Coloring and cutting.
And gluing to construction paper.
Fish number puzzle.
Fixing the 9 and 10.
Measuring the fish with goldfish crackers.
Gracie wanted me to help her trace the lines, then she drew a face at the bottom.
Letter Hunt.
Coloring a flamingo with do-a-dot markers.
Standing like a flamingo.
Throwing money in the fountain at the mall!
Fingerpainting with a friend!
I'll add the rest of the Ff activities tomorrow.
