Becoming a Mother

I was just going to put a few pictures of Ava and Gracie from when they were small but I came across all these pregnancy pictures and they are so funny that I had to put them on here.

The day after we found out we were pregnant.  =)

20 Weeks

Oblivous to the fact I was carrying twins.  We found out 5 days later.

Fast forward to week 36:

Here we are at a Valentine Banquet 9 days before the girls were born.
Check out those swollen calves and ankles!
Ava saw this picture just now and laughed, "You were silly, Mom!  Daddy is not silly, just you are silly!  You have black shoes?  Your shoes are not silly, just you are silly."

A lovely close-up of the swollen face.  =)

And I just can't resist putting this picture on.  (Sorry if you're grossed out!)  I would sleep with my feet up on pillows so in the morning they were a fairly normal size.  If I wanted to wear shoes I'd have to put them on the second I got up and the swelling would just fill out around them.  So this picture was taken in the evening when I took off my sandals, which just went across my toes.

The night before I became a Mom.

Haha!  These pictures make me laugh out loud.
Fun times.  =)

Meeting my children.

My perfect, healthy, beautiful children.

Ava Lynnae Roach
6 lbs, 18 1/2" long

Gracie Rae Roach
5 lbs 9 oz, 18" long

They are such a joy and I can't imagine my life without them!
I feel so incredibly blessed and thankful (to God and Joël) that I get
to stay home with them.

Oh my goodness, your poor feet! It's all I can think about when looking at these pictures :)
