She's a bit bigger now (these pictures are actually from last summer) and the girls SO look forward to getting to play with her when they go to Aunt Jody's house.

Week Cc, part 2

Complete the pattern.
Dice game.
Lacing a caterpillar, which happened to be in the shape of a C!
Ava looooves to cut paper.  I let her cut up the papers we're done with.
She really liked cutting the little pictures out.

Having fun with glue and the pattern pieces.

I'm so amazed by all of the ideas online.  Sooo many {creative} women have blogs where they share all these great ideas for crafts, educational activities, free printable pages, etc.
This is a Cheez-It game using the ones that have letters on them.  Just find the letter on the board and lay your cracker on it.  If you find a duplicate one, eat it!  =)
And to top off our week, a little green caterpillar crawled through the front door!
We gave him some blades of grass to eat.
They brought him back inside and played with him for a few minutes in the kitchen.  I wasn't paying much attention and about 30 minutes later I realized they had just left him on the floor and wandered off to do something else.  I accidently found him while I was vacuuming later on...
=(

Next up:  Dd for dinosaur!

Cc is for Caterpillar, Part 1

We made caterpillars with pipe cleaners and pony beads.
Ava's caterpillar family:
Gracie's.
We got several books about caterpillars from the library.  They liked all of them but especially The Very Hungry Caterpillar.
We caught 3 caterpillars (roly-polies) and a grasshopper.
And this cute little guy...
LOL!  I think its a locust...?  Something was wrong with it's wings so it was easy to catch.  The girls were sooo interested in it and probably spent 15 minutes studying it.  You can add 'Catching Locusts' to my list of 'Things I never thought I would do...until I had children.'  (also on the list: willingly getting up at 6:00 AM, and even 5:30 on occasion, to have some time before the kids wake up)

More homemade caterpillars:
I let them eat an M&M each time they circled a 'C' on the Letter Hunt worksheets.
Here's Ava trying to sneak an extra one.  =)
Graphing.  Count how many caterpillars and then fill up that many boxes.  For instance, if there are 2, then put beads in 2 boxes.
Ava got the hang of it.
Gracie just liked putting a bead in each box. =)
Number jumping!
Alphabet puzzle
Do-A-Dot
Sign language paper.
I cut out circles with the numbers 1-20 printed on them and they glued them on in order to make a big caterpillar.
Then added googly eyes.
They were so proud of these and asked several times to make another one.  =)

I'll share the rest of 'Week Cc' in a separate post. =)
