Picnic at the Library

Monday night we got groceries and new paper and crayons!

Gracie took our picture.  I didn't know I was supposed to make a funny face.

Ava took this.

Lunch on Tuesday was macaroni and cheese.  They both requested theirs without cheese (what?) but it was too late to leave it off.  They managed to eat some anyways.  We also had some delicious strawberries (that we got for $.99!!) and bread and butter.

Ava being silly.

Ava took her own picture.  She loves wearing this blue headband.

They came to work with me Tuesday evening for about 30 minutes.  Joel picked them up when he got off work and they went to Petco (just to look around and push the miniature carts) and Wal-Mart.

Wednesday morning we went to Story Hour at the Library.  Its the last one until June and we were supposed to bring a stuffed animal and have a picnic outside but the weather didn't cooperate.
Here's Gracie running ahead, as usual.

And Ava, slowly making her way...as usual.  =)

Gracie brought her kangaroo (and would only pose it upside down) and Ava brought a monkey.

It was a lot more crowded than usual because the younger class
joined us for the picnic.
They were both kind of apprehensive about that at first.

We had the picnic inside and it turned out just great.

Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, chips, and animal crackers.

Juice mustache.

Cutie pie.

Fun day!

A Rainy Monday

Play-doh!  Always a winner.

Ava got a lot of money in the Easter egg hunt at Aunt Jody's yesterday.  She was much more interested in that than chocolate.  She has asked many times since then if we could go to Wal-Mart to buy a toy.

Goofing off with Joel on his lunch break.

Playing in the rain!

Drying off the swing.

We worked on our alphabet puzzle.

Ava said, "How 'bout I wear 2 dresses?"  (And when she changed into pj's for her nap she said, "You 'member that time I wear 2 dresses?  That was funny!")

Fun with blocks.

Practicing their photography skills.

Reading time before their nap.

And BREAKING NEWS!!!
Ava slept with a blanket on last night for the first time in at least a year, probably longer.  She told Joel she was cold so he brought her this quilt and after much hesitation, she agreed to sleep with it on.  I used to cover her up with a blanket after she'd fall asleep and she'd either wake up during the night crying about it or I would find it on the floor the next morning.  But she slept with it all night and here she is getting ready to take a nap today.

Gracie wanted her picture taken as well. =)

Easter Sunday

Here we are, about to enjoy a fabulous lunch at the Genn's.

We had a candy shower after Sunday School.

 Ready for lunch.

Hanging out in the kitchen while the eggs were hidden in the living room.

Saturday, April 23rd

We put together little airplanes that we got for free at Kid's Day at the Park last week.  They had gotten new sandals the night before and Ava was excited to put them on as soon as she woke up.

They took turns taking funny pictures with the camera.  They LOVE to play with the camera.

After a quick wardrobe change, it was time for tabletop craft time.
(Don't worry, we do this all the time and they have never fallen off.)
I had a cute little video but it won't upload.

Then we did some play-doh.

Joel got up very early and went kayaking for a couple of hours.
The girls had fun playing in it when he got home.

Before bed I was working on our Easter clothes and Gracie came in my room and said, "Will you take my picture?  And I will be so beautiful.  I will stand by this door."  This is her favorite hat and favorite pair of shoes to dress up in around the house.  =)

We also went to Staples to get several things copied for church, then to prayer meeting, then to Dollar General to get candy for the candy shower, which we forgot to bring.  :)
